Challapulusu/Spinach buttermilk |
Needed Things:
- Pan and two bowls.
- Spinach - washed and chopped
- Basin flour-4 tbsp
- Buttermilk-3 tea cups
- water- 1 glass
- salt-according to taste
- Turmeric powder-1/2 tbsp
- red chili-1 full medium size
- Dhaniya powder/Coriander powder-1 tbsp
- Jeera powder/ Cumin powder- 1 tbsp
- Tulasi/Basil dry leaves powder-1 tbsp(optional)
- Parsley flakes-1/2 tbsp (optional)
Method:
- Take pan , put on the stove, after pan gets warm drop oil
- After oil gets warm drop red chili by split and spinach leaves.
- Drop Salt and Turmeric , Coriander, Basil,Cumin and Parsley.
- Stir it and put a lid on it ,let it cook in simmer.
- Now take another bowl as shown in the picture we have to make buttermilk.Please see my another post for how to make nice and tasty Butter milk.

- Now,take an other bowl and drop Basin flour in it and drop few few drops of water in it and stir it with a fork/whisk.
- Make it like paste.
- Don't worry if it turns too liquid..make sure it doesn't has any lumps in it.
- It should be like shown in the picture below.

- Now add this basin powder paste to the buttermilk while stirring it.
- Make sure it does not has any lumps.
- you can take help of electric or hand whisk or fork.
- See picture below for better understanding.
- Put it aside.
- Do not forget your spinach curry in the pan.
- Have a look , Spinach is nicely cooked.
- Now add the Buttermilk and Basin powder liquid to the spinach.
- Let it cook in medium heat and stir it often.
- Make sure do not put any lid to it.
- After it is nicely cooked you can find that is like medium liquid like in the picture.
- Yummy yummy hot hot Challa Pulusu is ready.
- This is well goes with Any Roti, any Dosa,Atlu,Bread and rice too.
